Fantasy meets strategy, creativity, and the joy of gaming: "Das Archiv der Zukunft" invites you to a social Commander evening centered around the popular trading card game "Magic: The Gathering." Whether you are an experienced player, a curious spectator, or a complete beginner, everyone with an interest in fantastical worlds and exciting encounters is welcome.
Dragons, wizards, mysterious creatures, and powerful spells: in "Magic: The Gathering," fantastical worlds come to life right on the tabletop. This globally renowned trading card game combines tactical skill with creativity, imagination, and a healthy dose of surprise.
What exactly is a Commander evening?
Commander is a particularly social variant of Magic: The Gathering. Typically, four players sit together at a table. Each player begins with 40 life points and a deck consisting of 100 cards. Every deck is led by a special card, the commander, which plays a decisive role in shaping the game's strategy.
Through clever moves, magical abilities, and surprising combinations, players strive to gain the upper hand over their opponents. No two games are ever the same and things often unfold in ways no one expected!
Join in, watch, and discover something new.
Our Commander evening focuses on the joy of playing together rather than intense, cutthroat competition. We play in a casual format, ranging from relaxed, imaginative rounds to slightly more sophisticated strategies.
If you already play Magic, feel free to bring your own Commander deck. For those new to the game, we provide decks for you to use. Beginners will receive a clear introduction to the rules, allowing them to dive straight into the fascinating world of Magic.
Even if you’re just curious, you’re more than welcome to drop by, watch the games, and experience the unique atmosphere of a Commander evening for yourself.
Just drop by and join in!
No registration is required, and admission is free. Whether you come to play, learn, watch, or talk shop, the Archive of the Future looks forward to a diverse evening filled with imagination, strategy, and new encounters.
