Students from the Technical School and Vocational College for Basket Weaving Design showcase their work.
Since 2009, the "AusbildungsLöwe" (Training Lion) award has honored outstanding achievements in vocational training within the Lichtenfels district. This prestigious award recognizes companies that make a significant contribution to the professional development of young people through exemplary training programs. The lion, a symbol of courage, strength and community, embodies the values upheld by these companies.
In 2025, we celebrate the 10th awarding of this esteemed prize in the historic Kaisersaal in Kloster Banz, a former Benedictine monastery hosted by the involved committees: Landkreis Lichtenfels, Arbeitskreis Schule Wirtschaft, berufliche Schulen Lichtenfels, IHK and HWK for Oberfranken, the Wirtschaftsjunioren and the Junioren des Handwerks Landkreis Lichtenfels, Arbeitskreis Schule-Wirtschaft, Sparkasse Coburg-Lichtenfels, and IHK Bayreuth. This historic building is part of the Gottesgarten (God’s Garden) ensemble in the Upper Main region (Bad Staffelstein). The "AusbildungsLöwe" is awarded every two years in three categories:
- to companies with the highest training quota,
- to companies for innovative training concepts, and, since 2023,
- to start-ups that stand out for their bold initiatives in vocational training.
This year brings an exciting innovation: for the first time, the "AusbildungsLöwe" sculptures are being designed by students, combining 3D printing with traditional basket weaving. This creative collaboration has resulted in innovative creations that present the "AusbildungsLöwe" in a fresh and modern light.
This exhibition offers you a glimpse into the ongoing development of these sculptures.
On the ground floor, you will find 3D-printed models, sketches, and mood boards that illustrate the creative approach.
In the lower level, students will present their designs, accompanied by video animations offering a 360-degree view of each concept. These presentations provide insights into the creative process behind the "AusbildungsLöwe 2025."
In fall, the jury will select the three sculptures that will represent the award in the various categories. These works are more than just trophies – they are symbols of recognition, reflecting the responsibility these companies bear in training the next generation of professionals and thus securing the economic future of our region. The "AusbildungsLöwe" inspires companies to invest in training and innovation, thereby strengthening the economic resilience of the Lichtenfels district.
The exhibition can be visited during the Braiding Culture Festival on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 3 pm.
From 16 - 20.9.24 the exhibition will be open from 1 - 5 pm.
We are looking forward to your visit.
