From children's hands to Wonderland.
The start to the Christmas season couldn't have been more colorful: For three days, the Archive of the Future was transformed into a vibrant art studio where children of all ages gave free rein to their imaginations. The open children's art workshop, which took place from 2 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, revolved around creative ideas, colorful worlds – and a touch of digital magic.
The workshop required no registration: Children could simply drop in, choose a spot, and start painting. Using provided brushes, pencils, and paints, they created not only animal motifs but also very personal pictures on topics that were currently on their minds. From wild jungle scenes to sparkling unicorns and detailed everyday moments, everything was represented.
The exciting highlight came as soon as a picture was finished: Using modern artificial intelligence, the artworks were transformed into short, animated clips. The painted figures and scenes began to jump, dance, or move gently – and repeatedly sparked enthusiasm. The combination of traditional painting and innovative technology proved to be a real highlight, impressively demonstrating how creatively and curiously children approach new things.
The Archive of the Future thus offered not only a creative painting workshop, but also a glimpse into what the art of tomorrow might look like – open, playful, and full of imagination. The finished artworks could be taken home, and the short films produced were sent to the parents via email.
Here you can watch the film about all the clips that were created.
