Free Workshop for School Newspapers – Practical Expertise
A great school newspaper thrives on compelling stories, interesting interviews, and creative design. But how do you conduct proper research? What makes an article stand out? How do you create engaging photos and a professional layout?
"Archiv der Zukunft" invites school newspaper editorial teams to a free, custom-tailored workshop. We have enlisted experienced journalist Tim Birkner to share his professional expertise and provide valuable, practical tips.
What makes this special: Each workshop is designed exclusively for a single school newspaper. This allows us to specifically address your team's unique needs and preferences. Whether the focus is research, engaging writing, conducting interviews, image editing, photography, layout, or using digital tools, the content is tailored entirely to the specific topics and questions of the editorial team.
In an open, hands-on atmosphere, participants learn how to turn an idea into a compelling piece and how to make their school newspaper even more professional and creative. You are welcome to bring along your own projects to develop them further together.
The initiative has already gotten off to a successful start: the editorial team behind MeraniVersum (the school newspaper of Meranier-Gymnasium Lichtenfels) has already attended the first workshop. Together with Tim Birkner, they deepened their understanding of journalistic fundamentals, reviewed articles, and brainstormed new ideas. The young editors were enthusiastic about the wealth of practical tips, the open exchange of ideas, and the insights into the day-to-day life of a journalist. They particularly appreciated the in-depth attention paid to their own questions and topics. This positive feedback confirms the value of the concept: personalized support rather than a one-size-fits-all program.
The workshop is free of charge and open to school newspaper teams from all types of schools. Seize this opportunity to gain valuable journalistic know-how, find fresh inspiration for your team, and work with an experienced journalist to take the next issue of your school newspaper to the next level.
